Jesse A. Quijas, 92, of Missouri Veterans' Home, Warrensburg, MO, went to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 14, 2017. Jesse was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born August 15, 1925 to Amalia and Lucas Quijas in Kansas City, KS. He attended Bishop Ward High School. He served in the US Navy aboard the carrier USS Steamer Bay during World War II. Jesse married his beloved Rose on May 5, 1951. Jesse A. Quijas, 92, of Missouri Veterans' Home, Warrensburg, MO, went to his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 14, 2017. Jesse was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born August 15, 1925 to Amalia and Lucas Quijas in Kansas City, KS. He attended Bishop Ward High School. He served in the US Navy aboard the carrier USS Steamer Bay during World War II. Jesse married his beloved Rose on May 5, 1951. Jesse was an active father and supported his sons in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, school bands, Little League Baseball, and military service. Jesse and Rose were season ticket holders to the Kansas City Chiefs from 1963 to 2001. He was also an avid fan of Kansas Jayhawk sports. He was Office Manager, then later, the Chief Financial Officer for United Sign until his retirement in 1990. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling with Rose and spending time with his grandchildren. Jesse survived his wife, Rose, and leaves behind his sons, Carl (Peggy) Quijas, Robert (Sandie) Quijas and Michael (Vicki) Quijas; four grandchildren, Jared Quijas, Mathew (Heather) Quijas, Nicholas (Kayla) Quijas, and Laura (Zach) Zirhut; two great-grandchildren, Alexandria Quijas and Austyn Rose Zirhut, as well as several nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at the Autumn Terrace in Raytown and the Missouri Veterans' Home for their support and care. Visitation will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, December 19th at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 West Linwood Blvd, Kansas City, MO, followed by a funeral service at 11:00. Interment in Mt.
